I was sorting through my cookie cutters the other day and just had to make these cute little guys! They’re a little smaller than the real competitors, maybe better suited as a snack to keep the contestants strength up this winter ❄️

It’s been a while since I’ve done a full layered cake but I’ve been trying to get better at decorating, so I thought it was about time!

I’ve always found frosting large cakes quite difficult, but practice makes perfect. This is your reminder that it’s okay not to be good at everything, and the more you do it, the easier it will get!

For those of you who don’t know, I’m a student teacher! I’ve just finished my placement for this year, and seeing the school lunches had me craving some classic “school cake”. If you’re not from the UK this one might be a bit lost on you, but it’s essentially a vanilla sponge cake with glacé icing and sprinkles.

It’s such a nostalgic treat for anyone who went to a British primary school in the last 30 years or so, and I’ve enjoyed making it so much I’m tempted to try my hand at some other classic recipes too, so please let me know your favourites!

I’ve been doing a lot of recipe experimenting these last few weeks, so whilst I’m testing, I thought I’d have a little throwback to an old recipe of mine

This recipe uses the same ratios as all my loaf cakes, you just need to add a few handfuls of raspberries into the mix

I recommend coating your raspberries in flour first, as it will help to stop them sinking to the bottom of your cake
